Free stuff I can't live without

The top 10 free tools I can't live without, Windows Edition:

1. vim - to  code stuff
2. putty - to log in and browse...
3. WinSCP - ...and then transfer files
4. Wireshark - to go deep
5. Cygwin - because nothing beats grep
6. RealVNC - for  graphical remote sessions
7. TortoiseSVN - easy, fast version control with a GUI
8. VMware - when I run out of hardware and want to check out Linux distros
9. procexp - another awesome tool from sysinternals
10. firefox - which could be chrome when the bugs are ironed out
    

Linux Edition:

1. vim - who knew!
2. fluxbox - simplicity is bliss
3. xmms - like I  mentioned above
4. opera
5. Wireshark/tcpdump
6. svn - to host and serve the Windows subversion clients
7. gcc - to build all these neat programs
8. cifs - to mount the Windows shares
9. wodim - makes CD/DVD burning that much easier
10. mysql - for my running log entries!
